Margaret Abraham coined the term SAWOs in the 1990s, in writing about domestic violence and the U.S. South Asian immigrant community.
Margaret Abraham has been grateful to work with many South Asian organizations addressing domestic violence as well as other areas pertinent to the South Asian immigrant community. She sees these organizations as having made a difference at individual, community and societal levels.
